    Yumei (she series) is a third-year student studying International Relations and Security at Tufts University. Previously, she was an editor and contributing writer for the Tufts Observer.

    Waideen is studying Political Science and Anthropology at Tufts. Her passion for delving into issues surrounding power structures and identity has inspired her to join Student Dispatch, where she will focus on the relationship between local gentrification and race within her writing.

    Kate is a junior at Tufts University studying political science, film and media studies, and English. She likes producing stories centered on people and the work they do in and for their communities and works to make politics and policy more widely accessible through her writing.

    Amelia is a junior with double majors in International Relations and Arabic at Tufts University. She has a strong passion for education, having worked and volunteered in the field, and she writes primarily about K-12 education.

    Aroha is a junior from Amsterdam, studying Anthropology and Political Science at Tufts. She wants her writing to bring attention to injustices and shine a light on the people who are fighting for what they believe in.

    Claire Brennan is a junior at Tufts University studying English and Political Science. She is interested in writing about healthcare policy in Massachusetts.

    Eric Spencer is a junior from Santa Cruz, California majoring in Political Science at Tufts University. He is interested in a range of political issues including voting and elections, economic justice, and climate change.

    Maddie is a junior at Tufts majoring in English and film & media studies and minoring in civic studies. As the editor in chief of The Tufts Daily, she's interested in how journalism works and is especially passionate about sharing important stories in accessible yet thought-provoking ways.   • Alex Sharp

    Alex is a junior studying Political Science and Civic Studies. He was previously the sports editor at the Tufts Daily, a reporter covering Cape Cod news at the Provincetown Independent, and a host at Red Bones BBQ in Davis Square. He is a three-time fantasy football league champion and enjoys playing cards and driving down dirt roads with the windows rolled down and music turned up.

  • Sarah Kaplan

    Sarah Kaplan is a junior studying Sociology & Civic Studies. Outside of class, she is involved with the Tufts University Prison Initiative of Tisch College (TUPIT) as a Medford student in the MyTERN reeentry education program. She is also a Hillel Community Building Fellow and volunteers with Animal Aid as a dog walker. Sarah loves to spend time outside doing yoga, hiking, or running (she just completed her first half marathon!), cooking, and hanging out with her favorite canine (or human) friends.

    Eitan Hersh is a political scientist at Tufts, studying elections, voting rights, and civic engagement. Hersh is the author of Hacking the Electorate and Politics is for Power, and he is the creator of the Student Dispatch.

    Rachel Slade is an award-winning journalist, author, and editor. She was on staff at the Boston Globe and Boston magazine before publishing the bestselling nonfiction book, Into the Raging Sea. She is currently working on her second book which will explore American culture through the history of manufacturing. Slade holds a BA from Barnard College and a master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
