    Emily is a junior studying chemistry. Her academic interests are far ranging but their central theme is they all allow her to see the world in a new light. With her writing, Emily is passionate about investigating and amplifying voices and stories that may otherwise fly under the radar and getting to the heart of what makes this community so unique.

    Dahlia Lyss is a junior from New York City studying Political Science at Tufts University. She is passionate about ensuring safe and legal access to abortion, voting rights, and combatting America’s ever growing political polarization.

    Michael is a junior at Tufts studying political science. Having covered Somerville politics for The Tufts Daily for the past four semesters, he is passionate about bringing attention to state and local issues that often go overlooked. Michael also serves on the student board of Tufts Hillel and is president of Tufts Friends of Israel.

    Chloe Courtney Bohl is a junior at Tufts University studying international relations. As the editor in chief of The Tufts Daily, she focuses on publishing journalism that amplifies marginalized voices and holds power to account, both at Tufts and in Medford/Somerville. Chloe is passionate about reporting local news that inspires people to be active in their communities.

    Flora is a junior at Tufts studying Political Science and Film & Media Studies. As the former Deputy News Editor and current Executive Science Editor at The Tufts Daily, she is passionate about making journalism accessible and digestible to writers and readers alike. Flora is interested in a range of political topics, including the interplay of media and politics, free speech regulations, immigration policies, and public access to basic needs. In her free time, she likes to write amateur movie reviews on a site called Letterboxd.

    Jay is a Junior studying Political Science and History at Tufts University. He is an editor for the Tufts Historical Review and is interested in a wide range of state and federal political issues including immigration and housing.

    Amanda Westlake is a senior at Tufts University studying computer science. She has held several positions on the Tufts Observer, and cares deeply about writing stories that pursue the truth and hold institutions accountable.

    Ellie is a junior from Northern California studying Civic Science Communication, a major that combines civic studies, biology, science technology and society studies, and film and media studies at Tufts University. She enjoys writing about local topics and also loves spending her time outside as hiking director for the Tufts Mountain Club.

    Eitan Hersh is a political scientist at Tufts, studying elections, voting rights, and civic engagement. Hersh is the author of Hacking the Electorate and Politics is for Power, and he is the creator of the Student Dispatch.

    Rachel Slade is an award-winning journalist, author, and editor. She was on staff at the Boston Globe and Boston magazine before publishing the bestselling nonfiction book, Into the Raging Sea. She is currently working on her second book which will explore American culture through the history of manufacturing. Slade holds a BA from Barnard College and a master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
